cold comfort

blackberry & spice tea

adapted from Moomins Cookbook: An Introduction to Finnish Cuisine by Tove Jansson and Sami Malila

a little less than 1/2 jar Bonne Maman blackberry preserves
1 t grated fresh ginger
1 cinnamon stick
2 1/2 c water
juice of one Meyer lemon
1 T slightly crushed cardamom pods

Simmer all ingredients gently for about half an hour and strain before serving. A little filtered water and honey to taste went into the boys' servings.

Mmmm, sounds very nice, we're getting more rain and need some warm winter drinks.
Just the thing if you've got a cold. A good reliever.
